Instructions for responding to the Center-based and Afterschool and Youth Development Core Competencies
When commenting, please consider the following points:
- Public comment is from June 15, 2009 through June 29, 2009.
- What is your overall impression of the document/s?
- Is the language clear?
- Do you have any suggestions for revisions to assist with clarity or utility?
- Is anything important missing?
- The committees that worked on these documents will consider your feedback carefully and make changes to the document/s as needed.

Center-based Core Competencies:
This document is still in-progress. The current document includes the following domains for teachers:
- Health, Safety, and Wellness
- Child Development and Learning
- Curriculum
You may feel free to comment on the content to date. Additional domains will include the following:
- Family, School, and Community Relationships
- Observation and Assessment
- Professionalism
- Administrator (includes comps from previous level 6 and program design comps)
Afterschool and Youth Development Core Competencies
This document is completed. You may feel free to comment on the content. Please make any suggestions you deem helpful. This version of core competencies will be piloted for at least a year after which there will be additional opportunities for those who have used it to make suggestions for revisions.
